Kerato VitA provides long-lasting relief from symptoms of dryness, irritation and mild eye irritation, particularly:

• in cases of dry eyes caused, for example, by Sjögren’s syndrome,
• in cases of environmental stress caused, for example, by air conditioning, wind or air pollution such as cigarette smoke,
• in cases of eye fatigue caused by intensive visual activity, for example, when working at a computer monitor, using microscopes or driving for extended periods,
• in cases of mechanical stress caused, for example, by wearing contact lenses or undergoing diagnostic eye procedures.

Kerato VitA is a preservative-free eye ointment that contains vitamin A and vitamin E in addition to dexpanthenol. It is used for long-lasting improvement of tear film quality and intensive protection of the ocular surface. The cell-protective properties of the product support normal re-epithelialisation in cases of disorders caused by dryness. Thanks to its high viscosity, Kerato VitA eye ointment coats the ocular surface like a film, stabilises the tear film and protects the eye from dryness. Thanks to its very soft and smooth consistency, Kerato VitA spreads easily over the ocular surface, allowing the eyelids to glide smoothly over the cornea and conjunctiva. The ointment contains vitamin A, a natural component of the tear film, and dexpanthenol, which is converted in the body into pantothenic acid and belongs to the group of B vitamins. Vitamin A supports eye moisturisation. Dexpanthenol increases water-binding capacity and thus forms a protective film on the ocular surface. The eye is protected from drying out and cared for.

Kerato VitA is usually applied 3 times daily for long-lasting improvement of tear film quality and intensive protection of the ocular surface. In particular, it is recommended to apply the ointment in the evening before going to bed – this ensures an intensive and long-lasting effect on the irritated eye. The ointment should be used continuously for at least 30 days. The frequency and duration of use should be determined by an ophthalmologist. If the symptoms continue after this period, consult an ophthalmologist again. If another ophthalmic product needs to be used concomitantly, discuss this with an ophthalmologist. Generally, an interval of at least 30 minutes should be allowed between the two applications. Kerato VitA should be applied after other products.

Wash your hands thoroughly before each application of Kerato VitA Before first use, break the tamper-evident seal by turning the protective cap anticlockwise and then remove the sealing foil. Hold the tube as vertically as possible above the eye, with the opening pointing downwards. Avoid any contact between the tube tip and your fingers or eye. Then tilt your head slightly backwards and use your free hand to gently pull the lower eyelid away from the eye. Gently squeeze the tube and apply a strip of ointment approximately 0.5 cm long into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye. Slowly close your eyes and move your eyeballs in all directions so that Kerato VitA ointment can spread evenly over the ocular surface. After application, replace the protective cap on the tube, taking care not to touch the tube tip. Avoid bending or rolling up the tube, as this may damage it.

Do not use if the tube or tamper-evident seal is damaged. Do not touch the eye with the tube tip, as this may cause infection or injury to the eye. Do not allow the tube tip to touch other objects or parts of the body. Do not use the eye ointment after the expiry date. It is stated on the tube and the carton. For hygiene reasons, a single tube of Kerato VitA must not be used by more than one patient. If eye symptoms persist while using Kerato VitA or recur after discontinuing the ointment, consult an ophthalmologist immediately. Kerato VitA may be used for 3 months after first opening.

Store at a temperature between 5°C and 25°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children.
