Corneal oedema. Ocusalin 5% UD is primarily used following ophthalmic surgery (e.g. cataract surgery) and diagnostic procedures (e.g. gonioscopy) that have disrupted the osmotic balance of the corneal tissue.

Ocusalin 5% UD is a sterile, hypertonic, preservative-free sodium chloride solution (5%) for ophthalmic use. Ocusalin 5% UD is used to treat corneal oedema – its osmotic properties remove excess fluid, leading to improved vision.

Separate one single-dose container (minim). Make sure that the container is not damaged. To open the container, twist off the flat tab (do not pull). Tilt your head slightly backwards, look upwards, gently pull down the lower eyelid and instil 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3-5 times daily. After instillation, slowly close your eyes to allow the solution to spread evenly over the surface of the eye.

Both the frequency of instillation and the duration of use must be agreed with an ophthalmologist! Do not use without a doctor’s recommendation!

Do not use the product if the single-dose container is damaged. Do not touch the eye with the tip of the single-dose container. Due to the risk of contamination, avoid contact between the open tip of the single-dose container and the body or any objects. The use of contact lenses is contraindicated in cases of corneal oedema. If wearing contact lenses is necessary, remove them before instillation. They may be reinserted at least 15 minutes after instilling the product. If other medicinal products need to be administered into the eye concomitantly with Ocusalin 5% UD, consult the attending ophthalmologist. Allow an interval of at least 5 minutes between the two administrations. After using the product, burning and/or irritation may occur in the treated eye. For single use only. As Ocusalin 5% UD contains no preservatives, any solution not used immediately after opening must be discarded. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on each single-dose container and the carton.

Store at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light by storing the single-dose containers in the carton.
